"Verdure" by Tobie Hall (December)

Art is in my family genetics. We are all in a creative career. I took art classes in high school for every elective I could. I have many friends wit my art hanging at their house, painting any furniture I could get my hands on and spending winter days at the table doing projects with my 3 sisters. Most of the art in my house is original work collected by me or done by me. When I am painting I am always in the NOW. It is so meditative and I am always eager to be painting or doing something creative.

“Tales of a Black Woman” - An Exhibit By Tj, The Creative (March)

Step into a world where brushstrokes tell stories, and color speaks truth. Tales of a Black Woman is a collection that celebrates the boundless resilience, beauty, and complexity of Black women. These abstract portraits evoke not only their joy and love but also the nuanced layers of their struggles and triumphs.

Each piece invites you to reflect on the lived experiences of those who carry untold stories in their spirit and strength. By amplifying Black culture and honoring the legacies of Black women, this collection is both a celebration and a call to awareness.

Through her art, Tj challenges viewers to move beyond the surface, embracing the shared humanity and deep cultural significance that these tales represent.

Let the colors move you, the forms inspire you, and the stories connect us all.

Tj, The Creative is a talented artist from South Bend, IN, who discovered her passion for painting in 2018. She believes that everyone has their own unique form of artistic expression, whether it's through poetry, music, dance, or visual art. Tj expresses herself through abstract paintings, often depicting unidentified Black women and men. Her work celebrates Black joy and love, amplifies Black culture, and brings awareness to Black trauma.
